Pets for Sale ads must be placed as Business, Business Gold, or Business Elite ads under "Pets for Sale" not as free ads under "Pets (Free)" or "Pets Accessories".
Car dealerships must place their ads as Priority or Priority Gold ads, not as free ads.
Child Care providers must place their ads as Business, Business Gold, or Business Elite ads under "Child Care Offered", not as free ads under "Child Care Wanted".
All types of Business ads must be placed as Business, Business Gold, or Business Elite ads, not as free ads. These include services you are offering, and ALL home-based businesses.
The FREE Stuff section is ONLY for giving away something for free. The exception being free pets, which belong in the Pets (Free) category. Do not try to sell your car under Free Stuff. If there is a pricetag on anything you have listed under Free Stuff, it will be deleted and your contact information will be flagged as a rule violator.
Do not post pornographic or obscene material.
Do not post fake or joke ads.
Do not type HTML into your ads.
DO NOT SPAM THE CLASSIFIEDS. Do not post the same ad multiple times under multiple ad types. Choose the most appropriate category for your ad. If your ad fits into two or three categories, feel free to post your ad two or three times, but do not over-do it. If you do, all of your ads will be deleted and you will have wasted a lot of time.

Failure to comply by the rules of JapanUpdate.com and the Island Market Classifieds will result in your ad(s) being deleted by our webmaster on the spot and your contact information added into our blacklisting system as a flagged account. Announcement! New protective measures in place

As of two weeks ago, we began implementing new security measures onto our website. The largest being a complete blacklisting system. As of lately, a large percentage of the fraudulent ads have been blacklisted and will not appear on our website ever again. However, a few still pop up every now and then. If you come across any ads which seem suspicious, please report them to me at webmaster@japanupdate.com.

This new blacklisting system is also in place to weed out users who habitually break our rules. Now would be a good time for everyone to familiarize themselves with our rules and regulations. If you break our rules, every single one of your free ads will be automatically deleted on the spot and your contact information will be added as a flagged account in our blacklist database. Users who continue to break the rules will be banned. It is the responsibility of you as a user to familiarize yourself with our rules before using our classifieds.

We hope you enjoy the new security measures. We are greatly pleased with the improvements.

Announcement! Please read before posting a free ad.

Apparently, some of our visitors have failed to read the rules and regulations of the Island Market Classifieds and are unable to discern the difference from placing multiple ads in appropriate categories and placing multiple ads in inappropriate categories. A few example being placing a car for sale under "Free Stuff" or "Announcements", trying to sell a dog under "Free Pets", or advertising your child care services under "Child Care Wanted". A few of our visitors have gone so far as to place the same ads fourty or fifty times, which takes a considerable amount of time I'm sure.

Due to this and others incapability to follow the rules of the classifieds, we are taking a stricter stance on moderating the classifieds. It would be wise of you to read and understand our rules before placing an ad.

From this point on, if even ONE of your ads is breaking the rules of the classifieds, we will be removing ALL of your free ads that currently exist on our system. We are also developing a blacklist system where we will place 3rd party spammers, scammers, and users of the classifieds who for one reason or another are unable to read and understand the rules of the classifieds and break our rules multiple times.

We hope our added attention and strictness will make our classifieds easier to use and more enjoyable for the rest of our users.

If you have noticed that your free ads have failed to appear online, you may want to review our rules before resubmitting. We have no problem mass deleting garbage ads and it takes us a lot less time to delete than it takes for you to post.

If you notice any ads breaking our rules, feel free to report them at webmaster@japanupdate.com so we can delete them right away. We always appreciate outside help.
