Uruma City man charged with attempted murderDate Posted: 2009-11-19 Tsuneyoshi Shimabukuro walked into Uruma City’s police station Saturday night, apologizing to police “I’m sorry, I struck a man with a hatchet,” referring to the hatchet in his hand. The 67-year-old Shimabukuro told police he’d turned the hatchet on his brother-in-law, inflicting shoulder and chest cuts from weapon, which was 44cm long. Shimabukuro explained to police he’d swung the hatchet on his brother-in-law “because he always treated me with contempt, and looked down on me. I couldn’t endure his looking down on me.” His brother-in-law was taken to a hospital, where he is reported in good condition.
