Registration open for 18th annual Okinawa MarathonDate Posted: 2009-11-05 Registration opened Sunday for the 18th annual Okinawa Marathon, and potential participants may register in the first round through December 31st. A second registration series will run January 1st through 5th. Application forms are available at all Family Mart branches. The 2010 Okinawa Marathon will start March 7th at 9 a.m. for the full marathon, while a 10km road race begins at 9:30 a.m. The marathon starts from Okinawa Comprehensive Athletic Park, winding up at the same location 42.196 kilometers later, having run a course that winds through Kadena Air Base. The marathon is sponsored by the Japan Track and Field Events Union and the Citizen’s Marathon. The race will be on television, and two people who complete the race will be selected by a drawing and invited to the Sapporo Marathon.
