Children from both Japan and Taiwan found themselves using English as the common language, since neither spoke the other’s language. I want my kids to learn how to communicate with foreigners in English, in a way they have fun,” says I-Learning Group founder Siggy Kano. “Besides English, I’m glad the kids learn different cultures so they acquire a sense of a cosmopolitan outlook. Thirty-six pupils of “Cats”, a prestige English language school in Taiwan, spent July on Okinawa, sharing with I-Learning Group and making visits to Ryukyu Mura, Churaumi Aquarium and Okinawa Kodomono-Kuni. “I was nervous at the first stage,” said one student, “because I was afraid my English would be poor to talk with them.
